The Bartlett Pear is also known as the “Williams” in other parts of the world. Enoch Bartlett of Dorchester, Massachusetts introduced the variety to the United Sates in the early 19th century not knowing it had already been introduced to other parts of the world. The Bartlett is used for fresh eating, canning and cooking.
